There are a few things that might set me apart from local newborn photographers- I LOVE shooting outside.

YES! Outdoors – outdoors 😉

I will only do it when the temperatures are just right and the area is safe for baby. It’s really my favorite – like ever !

I was SO SO lucky to have a beautiful day to scoop this beautiful baby boy up and grab some photos of him right outside of the studio.

There was this perfect patch of grass and the lighting was just right. Mom and dad were in utter shock that we moved outside and loved every

second of it. Than, when I showed them the sneak peek- I think they fell in love all over.

This particular session is special to me in a couple different ways .

1: It’s my best friends baby ( best friends since like 6th grade)

2: It was my first Newborn “Seminar” that myself & another photographer taught  (which we are planning more in the future)

{the ladies that came to the pittsburgh newborn seminar class had a great time. They got learn, shoot and ask questions}

I try to keep my newborn sessions different than most. I love shooting outdoors when possible.

I also like to not be really super awkward baby posey – so what does that even mean ?

I think it’s so beautiful to look at a baby in close to natural looking as possible without being lifestyle.

I give lots of credit to the newborn photographers that do those very intricate posing – it’s just not my style 🙂

So if you are looking for Outside, light posing I am your girl !

It’s might not be a secret by now … I love sun light. Crashing in through tress, windows or clouds… I just love it.

So why not take a newborn session OUTDOORS.

First off I really should start off by saying “Thank you” to my client who met me at a baby shower years ago ( while she was pregnant ) and has continued to hire me over & over

even when I told her I was going to do her newborn | sibling session outdoors – she said “ok cool” . I think she trust me & my process.

Hopefully I didn’t disappoint !

We didn’t go anywhere crazy – just a local park. North Park which offers so many great little spots – you just have to search for them 🙂 

Her older daughter is so playful & fun. She has a great personality so we had fun capturing her playing with flowers , dancing in the light & just being little & cute.

The newborn session I wanted to separate from the sibling shots ( which of course I got sibling shots …I just don’t want to share ALL my photos – I leave that to the client to share)

So I wrapped new baby up & placed her in a wooden crib I had spray painted. My assistant Amanda help me decorate the crib in the greenery & flowers to help blend the crib into nature.

and … Ta’ Da’!

The fresh smell of a newborn. A fresh bed of greens. Crisp clean summer air & Dreamy creamsicle light.

I had to share a sneak peek of this handsome boy today J5 ( John the 5th) . 9 days young & natural in nature.

I am so over the moon to take these precious moments for my best friend ( maid of honor) Angie & her husband John.

I love being a new “auntie” Pammy <3

(I kinda have thing for this outside newborn – no overlays, no composition …baby was outside)

Today was also extra special because my friend Sarah & I did a newborn seminar for this newborn session.


Our photographer friends walked away with some images for their portfolio & also learned some new techniques.
